To all the fidgeters, day dreamers, people who love math or spend hours and hours studying for that impossible engineering degree: you will feel very much at home here.

My first goal in writing this blog is to help myself better understand my disability, Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder. I want to learn more and change the way I live my life in order to get the most out of it!

My second goal is to give readers, in a similar situation, encouragement and motivation to be the best self they can be. It can get challenging and life can throw some curve balls, but it always gets better and I’m here to prove that to you.

We’re going to discover, learn, and grow together! And hopefully the end result is will be an archive of lifestyle tips, research, realizations, and everything ADHD.

 ~ About The Blogger ~

My name is Katie Kirkby and I am currently an engineering student at Marquette University. I was diagnosed with ADHD when I was little, no idea how long ago, seems like forever ago though! I remember all my teachers and parents had to take tests about my behavior. I think I had to also, but here I am many many years later and I still have it. It wasn’t until recently that I became passionate about it, and now I can’t stop googling and reading and discovering all things ADHD. Then came this blog, this is my way of organizing my thoughts and research!

Besides being an engineering student with ADHD, I do have some hobbies I do in my very little free time. I love playing golf and soccer, although I don’t get out there much to actually play. I also occasionally taking pictures of random things I think are beautiful. I’m by no means a photographer, but I can take a pretty solid picture and doing it puts a smile on my face! I love love love my family and my dogs and my friends. I spend most of my free time on them, it makes me feel normal in a world that tends to make me feel the opposite. I also have a second family, Alpha Xi Delta, at Marquette. They are the most genuine people I know and they give me the confidence to *realize my potential* and do things like writing a blog or exploring something I might be scared of.

I’m not sure what else to say about myself. If your curiosity is eating you from the inside out, feel free to *shoot me a noti* (noti ~ notification – the wise words of a friend) a.k.a. send me an email and I will *throw you a noti* right back!

Cheers to ~ trying something I’m definitely scared of!
